Press release
Altdorf, 18 August 2026 – Kamuno AG, the Urner Kantonalbank subsidiary specialising in digital SME financing, and Bank WIR are announcing their partnership. Customers of the Swiss cooperative bank will be able to check their credit line via the Kamuno platform within minutes – fully digital, non-binding, without paperwork and without long waiting times.
Fast liquidity for Swiss SMEs
Small and medium-sized enterprises account for around 95 per cent of Switzerland's working population and form the backbone of the Swiss economy. At the same time, traditional credit processes are often complex and time-consuming for many businesses. The new partnership between Bank WIR and Kamuno closes this gap: via the Kamuno platform, SMEs receive an initial assessment of their credit line within minutes, a complete loan application can be submitted in around 15 minutes, and a decision follows within a few days. Credit lines of up to CHF 250,000 are available, with flexible drawdowns and a transparent processing fee with no hidden costs.
Why the partnership fits
The collaboration brings together two institutions working towards the same goal from different directions: straightforward, needs-based financing for Swiss SMEs.
- Complementary expertise: Since its founding in 1934, Bank WIR has maintained a deep-rooted relationship with SMEs and today offers a broad range of banking services covering accounts, payments, financing and investments. Kamuno contributes modern, fully digital lending technology that covers short-term liquidity needs quickly and easily.
- Complement rather than overlap: While Bank WIR traditionally supports its customers with larger, long-term financing projects such as real estate or capital investments, Kamuno covers the need for short-term, flexible liquidity – for example to bridge shortfalls or seize short-term market opportunities.
- Shared target group: Both partners serve the same segment – Swiss SMEs – and can meaningfully complement each other's offering through the cooperation, without needing to build new lending infrastructure or acquire a new customer base.
- Digitalisation as a shared driver: Banking is increasingly conducted online. Kamuno was founded specifically to help shape this shift. Through the partnership, Bank WIR can offer its customers a modern digital solution without giving up its personal advisory approach.
With Bank WIR, we are gaining a partner that has enjoyed the trust of Swiss SMEs for decades. For us, this is an important step in making our technology available where SMEs need it most – close, personal and yet digital.Roger Twerenbold, CCO and Co-Founder, Kamuno AG
The collaboration with Kamuno is a logical step for us. We have known our SME customers for decades and understand how varied their financing needs can be. With Kamuno, we are now also covering short-term digital lending and creating an even more complete offering.Melek Ates, Head of Private and Corporate Clients and Member of the Executive Board, Bank WIR
